Actress Renée Rapp will leave The Sex Lives of College Girls in the third season

Things are changing at Essex College. One of the cast members will leave the series next season.
Renée Rapp leaves Max series The Sex Lives of College Girls. Rapp stars as Leighton, a wealthy New York freshman trying to live up to her mother's high expectations. It was her television debut.

Deadline understands that Rapp (pictured) will appear in a handful of episodes of season three of the series, which was renewed in December, but will no longer have a regular role in the series and will leave the series after those episodes.

The Sex Lives of College Girls follows four roommates during their freshman year at New England's prestigious Essex College. Season two continues with the students returning from their fall break and tackling the challenges they encountered at the end of the first season, while also facing their next semester filled with new faces, parties, and predicaments.

Mindy Kaling and Justin Noble's series is one of the streamer's highest-performing originals.

The series also stars Pauline Chalamet, Amrit Kaur, Alyah Chanelle Scott, Mekki Leeper, Christopher Meyer, Ilia Isorelýs Paulino, Lolo Spencer, Renika Williams and Mitchell Slaggert.

Rapp, who signed with WME last November, also has a growing music career. Last year, she signed with Interscope Records and released her debut EP, Everything to Everyone. She also made her Broadway debut in Mean Girls as Regina George in 2019.
