The Silent Sea

Surprisingly good series. Why surprising? Because after seeing Parasite and Squid Games I didn't really like the South Korean way of acting. Much too exaggerated in my opinion. However, the acting in this series shows that things can be done differently. First some more information about the content. I try to do it without spoilers, because the content as described is very brief. In the near future, the climate has changed so much that there is almost no drinkable water left on Earth. Water is rationed and it depends on your social standing how much you are entitled to. Against this backdrop, a team is assigned to retrieve "something" from a base on the Moon where a mysterious accident occurred five years ago, resulting in many deaths and the closure of the base. It is unclear what they should get. We know right away that it is dangerous. The journey to the Moon does not go smoothly, which already makes for an exciting first episode. Once at the base, the mysteries only deepen. What is it that they have to find? What is the cause of death of the bodies they find? Does everyone want the mission to succeed? And is there still something or someone on the base after five years? And what is actually the importance of the company on Earth that made this Moon mission possible? Little by little we will get answers to these questions over the course of the season. Answers that in some cases can be called surprising and even shocking. Silent Sea is an exciting science fiction series that I finished in one day without any problems. Every episode ends with a cliffhanger and then you're glad you don't have to wait a week for the sequel :-) The ending leaves plenty of room for a second season. I wonder if that will happen.

Great series with strong episodes, especially in the beginning! Once the big mystery is a bit more clear, the series becomes predictable and has an easy ending. Nevertheless, quite entertained, nice acting and quite a South Korean surprise!
