Prime Video announces start date for second season The Summer I Turned Pretty

The Summer I Turned Pretty is ready for its second season. Prime Video has announced the start date of the drama.
Prime Video made the announcement with the release of a new cast video. The episodes of the eight-part season will appear weekly during the summer.

Starring Lola Tung, Jackie Chung, Rachel Blanchard, Christopher Briney, Gavin Casalegno, Sean Kaufman, Alfredo Narciso and Minnie Mills, the coming-of-age drama is based on the novel by Jenny Han. It follows Belly (Tung) as she is trapped with her feelings between two brothers.

The Summer I Turned Pretty

Prime Video revealed more about the series' return in a press release:

"Prime Video today announced the return of the hit series The Summer I Turned Pretty, airing three episodes on Friday, July 14, 2023, with new episodes added weekly until the season finale on Friday, August 18, 2023. The first season of the series, based on the bestseller of Jenny Han, became the number 1 series on Prime Video during its premiere weekend.

The series stars Lola Tung, Christopher Briney, Gavin Casalegno, Sean Kaufman and Rain Spencer, recurring guest stars David Iacono and Elsie Fisher, who joined the cast this season in a recurring role. Jackie Chung and Rachel Blanchard also play regular roles, and Kyra Sedgwick (The Closer) joins season two in a recurring role.

The cast also revealed all eight episodes for season two, allowing fans to speculate which of their favorite storylines from It's Not Summer Without You, the second book in Han's series, will be translated to the screen, as well as any new surprises unique to the series have in store for viewers this year.

Episode 2.2 - Love Scene (July 14, 2023)
Episode 2.3 - Love Sick (July 14, 2023)

Episode 2.8 - Love Triangle (August 18, 2023)

The Summer I Turned Pretty

Belly used to count down the days until she could return to Cousins ​​Beach, but with Conrad and Jeremiah battling for her heart and Susannah's cancer returning, she's not sure summer will ever be the same again. Season two of The Summer I Turned Pretty is led by showrunners Han and Sarah Kucserka. Han, Kucserka, Karen Rosenfelt and Gabrielle Stanton serve as executive producers, along with Hope Hartman, Mads Hansen and Paul Lee for wiip. The series is a co-production between Amazon Studios and wiip.

Jenny Han is the No. 1 New York Times bestselling author of the series To All the Boys I've Loved Before and The Summer I Turned Pretty. Her books have been published in more than thirty languages. For television, she created two new series based on her books, Prime Video's The Summer I Turned Pretty, which she produces and co-runs, and the Netflix series XO, Kitty, a universe spin-off To All the Boys, which she also produces and co-showruns. For films, she produced all three films in Netflix's global hit To All the Boys trilogy.
