In addition, several first seasons of other series have surpassed 25 million viewers, underscoring the importance of a strong debut series in the streaming world.
Jenny Han, creator of the series and author of the books on which it is based, responded enthusiastically to the success. She said it's remarkable to see how the story has touched millions of people, how the books are once again ranking high on bestseller lists, and how much conversation it has sparked on social media.
Lola Tung, who plays Belly—the "I" in The Summer I Turned Pretty—expressed her satisfaction with how her character's story concludes before the season premiere.
