The Third Day follows Sam, who after being drawn to a mysterious Island off the British Coast, is thrown into the unusual world of its secretive inhabitants. Isolated from the mainland, the rituals of the island begin to overwhelm him, and he is confronted by a trauma from his past. The story is less accessible than expected. Psychosis and reality make the viewer doubt what is and is not correct. Despite Brad Pitt's direction and Jude Law's stellar acting, the series won't break any records.

Jude Law is a world class actor, but that couldn't save the pilot of this series for me, sorry. It was boring, slow, cliché and a complete waste of time as far as I am concerned. It was like watching Lionel Messi play a match among the amateurs. This is of course a personal value judgment, but know that I am a fan of series such as Lost or The 100 and therefore have nothing against 'unrealistic' storylines. It really isn't that. They simply failed to make me as a viewer empathize with the main characters. Bad script, I suspect. And there is too much supply of good series at the moment to waste time on mediocre ones.
