Official trailer for The Wheel of Time

The Sony Pictures Television fantasy series will premiere on Prime Video on the 19th of November. It has already been renewed with its second season.
Prime Video has released the official trailer for their upcoming fantasy series The Wheel of Time, which is based on the bestselling novel series with the same name. The first three episodes of the first season will premiere on the 19th of November. Afterwards, new episodes will release each Friday up until the season finale, which airs on the 24th of December.

Using YouTube’s 360 player and spatial audio surround sound, fans can spin the trailer like—well, like a wheel. Moving to the left of the traditional trailer bounds will show Moiraine’s “One Power” channelling. You’ll see lighter swirls of energy, accompanied by Moiraine’s (Rosamund Pike) voice, as words, artefacts, and symbols appear and disappear into the swirling ether. Look to the right instead, and you’ll find a darker energy; the corruption of the Dark One representing a descent into madness.

The Wheel of Time is one of the most popular fantasy series of all time. Globally, more than 90 million books were sold. The story takes place in a vast, epic world where magic exists. Only certain women have access to it. The story follows Moiraine (Rosamund Pike), a member of the incredibly powerful and entirely female organisation called the Aes Sedai. When she arrives in the small town Two Rivers she starts a dangerous, worldwide journey alongside five young men and women, one of whom is the reborn dragon who will either save or destroy humanity.

Based on the bestselling fantasy novels by Robert Jordan, The Wheel of Time was adapted into a television series by executive producer/showrunner Rafe Judkins. Larry Mondragon and Rick Selvage from Red Eagle Entertainment, Mike Weber, Radar Pictures' Ted Field, Darren Lemke, Marigo Kehoe and Uta Briesewitz will also serve as executive producers. Briesewitz will direct the first two episodes. Rosamund Pike will serve as producer and Harriet McDougal and Brandon Sanderson will serve as advising producers. The Wheel of Time was co-produced by Amazon Studios and Sony Pictures Television.
