So far, only The CW's strongest existing scripted series, All American (2018) and Walker, have been renewed for next season. The Winchesters has now been canceled just like Walker Independence. Remaining in limbo are Superman & Lois and All American: Homecoming, which are believed to have a good chance (however small) of being renewed, followed by Gotham Knights.
Studio Warner Bros. Television has already seen the downpour for The Winchesters and has geared up to find a new home for the series, planning to be aggressive in its search. Executive producer (and Supernatural actor) Jensen Ackles is likely to mobilize Supernatural fans in a Save the Show campaign that could help the series find a new outlet.
Starring Meg Donnelly and Drake Rodger, The Winchesters comes from Supernatural trio Robbie Thompson, Jensen Ackles and Danneel Ackles, Warner Bros. Television and CBS Studios.
Written and produced by Thompson, The Winchesters is a prequel to The CW's long-running series Supernatural, centering on Dean and Sam Winchester's parents, John and Mary. Told from the perspective of narrator Dean Winchester (voiced by Jensen Ackles), The Winchesters is the epic, untold love story of how John (Rodger) met Mary (Donnelly) and how they risk everything to save not only their love, but the to save the whole world.
Jensen and Danneel Ackles executive produce through their Chaos Machine Productions banner. Chaos Machine, in association with Warner Bros. TV and CBS Studios. Glen Winter serves as executive producer and director of the pilot. David H. Goodman and John Showalter serve as executive producers.
