What a fantastic series! A slow build-up, but after 3 episodes I was completely drawn into the story. And the end of the season such a good ending scene. Emotional for me but also made me look forward to next season !!

Great series! I must say that it took me a while before I realized that the different storylines took place in different times. I don't know the books and the games, maybe that's why. But once I understood that, the stories were suddenly a lot clearer. And towards the end of season 1 they come together in a beautiful way. I am also very curious how this will continue. Bring on Season 2. No idea if this is really a spoiler, by the way, but I just check that to be sure.

Completely correct. I think they could have shown a little more clearly that these are flashbacks. Well, the attentive viewer will figure it out, although it may take a while. Also (a bit) annoying: Sometimes Netflix uses the original Polish names in the subtitles, while the actors pronounce the English names. Some things are also not translated correctly which can be quite annoying.

What a great series! During episode three I couldn't stop watching. Now the long wait for season 2 begins. Until then I will definitely watch him again

I have enjoyed The Witcher. It's not big, but a good fantasy series with enthusiastic actors. Nice and atmospheric too, with neat sets and accessories. I thought episodes 7 and 8 were by far the best, because then the pieces of the puzzle fall together. They make so few fantasy series of any level, that's why I cover the annoying things (that annoying 'bard', the somewhat long-winded parts in the 'magic school', ...) with the mantle of love. And yes, most nude scenes were unnecessary because they were not always functional, but they were portrayed beautifully and tastefully.

A man complaining about nude scenes?

I think The Witcher is a great series. Good story, a few good actors, actresses, nice pictures, heavy fights and good music. Not a real top series, but a series that stands out above the average.

Good series that is close to my heart, I have read the original books and played the last 2 games several times, so I was skeptical beforehand whether a series would convince me. But in my opinion it was a great success! They have used clever combinations from both the games and the books in the series. Occasionally it is a bit slow, but that is secretly in line with the original stories, Gerald would rather rip everyone's ears off and make them drip than slaughter them (which we secretly like to see him do... ). It all looks really great too, especially in season 2! The acting also increases in level in the 2nd season, Gerald becomes more and more convincing! Bring on season 3!

It sucks that they didn't even give Henry Cavill a decent ending! I expected more originality for replacing a main character, especially with all that magic in the world... Somehow show how he got his new look or something. I was also waiting for a hit of a season finale but that didn't happen. I thought it was weak after episode 6.

Totally agree. Episode 7 was a spectacle, but without a really good story. Other than that it was a bit disappointing. And Cavill exits through the side door. That could have been done differently. I read somewhere that they found some bogus loophole to replace Cavill. Just read this: https://www.serietotaal.nl/nieuws/29426/maker-van-the-witcher-bracht-fans-in-voering-de-switch-van-cavill-naar-hemsworth-is-onderdeel -of-the-plot It is of course SerieTotaal, so how reliable this is remains to be seen.

Hahaha, how hilariously bad! "This suggests they could use an 'unreliable narrator', giving us a new story from another character's perspective that clarifies that Geralt actually looked different than we previously thought." I'm very curious how they will solve this, but that's all I want to know. Unless the new season is really great, I don't want to watch it anymore :P

By the way, how can anyone vote for a character if the series doesn't start until December?

I gave it an eight while watching the first season. I'm now on the second episode of season 2 and have lowered my rating. I don't know if I'll continue with it. At times I find the dialogue so childish that it is almost laughable and there is not a single character that I feel connected to. What am I actually looking at? The level of GoT, His Dark Materials, Carnival Row, The Wheel of Time is not reached anywhere.

Bad news, Henry Cavill will quit after the 3rd season. Liam Hemsworth will take over the role. Source: https://www.netflix.com/tudum/articles/the-witcher-season-4-liam-hemsworth

The rumor is that Henry Cavill himself left because the writers deviated too much from the stories in the book series. He has already indicated in several interviews that he wants to continue playing Herald as long as they remain faithful to the book series.
