Trailer for The Witcher's third season offers a look at the final episodes starring Henry Cavill

Attention The Witcher fans! There is now officially a trailer for the upcoming Netflix season.
In the highly anticipated third season of the series, based on the video game and book series of the same name, Henry Cavill will make his final appearance as Geralt of Rivia and then Liam Hemsworth will take over the role.

After confirming the return of the fantasy series with a teaser trailer that gave fans a taste of what to expect, Netflix is ​​now showing footage in a new trailer showing Geralt once again going to battle to protect Ciri.

"For the first time I understand real fear," Geralt admits in the clip.

The Witcher

Writing on their official Twitter page, the streaming giant shared posters for the series starring Geralt, Ciri (Freya Allan), Yennefer (Anya Chalotra) and Jaskier (Joey Batey), captioning, "They have the power to change everything. The Witcher season 3 trailer tomorrow."

The previous season ended with Ciri exorcising the spirit of Voleth Meir, who possessed her, and Yennefer betraying Geralt by sacrificing herself to save Ciri after the former princess of Cintra slaughtered many of Geralt's fellow witches.

And it looks like the latest series will feature even more monsters and magic, with the third season's official synopsis: "While the continent's monarchs, mages, and beasts battle to capture her, Geralt takes Ciri from Cintra to his lair , determined to protect his newly reunited family from those who threaten to destroy her.

"Entrusted with Ciri's magical training, Yennefer leads them to the protected fortress of Aretuza where she hopes to discover more about the girl's untapped powers; have come. They must fight back, risk everything - or risk losing each other forever."

The Witcher

The series will be split into two parts, with part one arriving on Netflix on Thursday, June 29, 2023 and part two following on Thursday, July 27, 2023.

The behind-the-scenes creators of the series recently shed light on the future of The Witcher, with a fifth season on the way.

Speaking to Deadline, casting director Sophie Holland said: "We're about to start filming season four with Liam Hemsworth and there will be a short break, then we'll go straight into season five."

Details about the fourth and fifth seasons are being carefully withheld, so fans will have to wait and see how The Hunger Games star Hemsworth fares as the series' new protagonist.

The first and second seasons of The Witcher are now streaming on Netflix. Season three is in production. Spin-off The Witcher: Blood Origin is also streaming on Netflix.
