Lafe Crick arrives with his daughter Essiebelle. He found the love letters Jethro wrote to her & wants Jethro & Essiebelle to Marry-up. Lafe is only interested in Marrying his daughter off so he can get some of Jed's money.
Essiebelle is not interested in marrying Jethro, she has a sweetheart waiting at home.
