To end the season properly, parts of the final episode of this season will be animated. Just like many other series, this season of
The Blacklist will be shortened due to the coronavirus. The creators of
The Blacklist have, however, found an innovative way to create an episode that'll serve as the season finale. The 19th episode of the seventh season, which is titled The Kazanjian Brothers, was halted halfway through production. To end things properly, it has been decided to partially animate the 19th episode and combine that with previously recorded footage. Castmembers, editors and the animating department have created this episode from their homes.
The finale of the seventh season, which was actually supposed to have 22 episodes, will be released on the 15th of May. A week before that, the series,
which has already been renewed, will air its 150th episode. SonyTV, the studio behind
The Blacklist, is also
working on an animated episode of one of their other shows,
One Day at a Time (2017), which airs on Pop TV.
