Yes sorry, it was quietly at the front for a while. I was busy. You sometimes have that. Busy with work and busy with that new series with Tim Robbins. “What ?!”, I hear you think. “After The Spoils Of Babylon, is there another series with that demigod from The Shawshank Redemption in it? What a party. Here in the house, let me prick some streamers from the ceiling and put on such a nice template paper hat. Ooh, and Jack Black and that psychologically disturbed porn mustache from Orange Is The New Black are also doing their part? Chill. Don't have any posters of those guys above my bed, but I like them in a series, especially if that series is also from HBO. What exactly is this new masterpiece about? ”. Well, funny that starts about it, because I wonder after seeing all ten episodes. Quelle une misère (That is 'What misery' in French). Things are rumbling in Pakistan and when the umpteenth power-hungry man takes over, World War III slowly presses his nose against the window. It's up to the sex-addicted U.S. Secretary of State (Tim Robbins), a bland employee at the U.S. Embassy in Islamabad (Jack Black) and a sniffed fighter pilot on an aircraft carrier in the Red Sea (Pablo Schreiber) to save the world from the downfall. It still sounds so short and concise, but don't let yourself be fooled, dear people. I don't know about you guys, but I'm quite brand loyal. If I'm very honest I should say brand horny here, but I don't want to come across too superficial. Ever since I was able to pay for them from my paper route, my buttocks hang relaxed every day in Björn; I don't drink Pepsi, it has to be Coca Cola and I keep it warm at home in a bright red SMEG fridge. I love my brands, but you have to accept that they also miss the mark every now and then. For example, in '95 Nike had its new Air Max line put together by the blind trainee from the construction company around the corner, BMW's chief designer apparently got a tia just while he was working on the design for the new head turner of 1993, the BMW C1, and apparently the director of HBO had too many things on his mind when he drew a sketch under The Brink's broadcast schedule, because of course it should never have been on TV. Unworthy of HBO. The approach is that every now and then tears should roll down your cheeks with laughter. Well, those tears were there, but it didn't have much to do with laughter. Bringing humor is already difficult, just ask Guido Weijers, but making good satire is an art. An art that the writer of The Brink unfortunately turned out not to be quite masterful. This has turned it into a comedy where you shake your head at the screen of your phone after every funny punchline intended on the couch, hoping for a Tinder match that can provide you with the much-needed distraction. Tim Robbins can't do much wrong with me since the Shanwshank, but he could have saved the script from The Brink better to wrap his Golden Globe and Academy Award during a subsequent move. Unfortunately he didn't and now we all have the misery for at least two seasons, because HBO has already announced that a second round will follow. Well great.

Well .... it's funny, humor with irony, I think the actors are cool, Tim & Jack. Takes per half hour just like Ballers. n political satire, chuckling on the couch.

Had enough of it after 2 episodes. The Brink is far below Ballers' level.
