At first it was very questionable if ‘The Mentalist’ would be renewed, but the die is finally cast and the drama series is renewed for a seventh season. How many episodes there will be is not yet known, but it is expected to be a total of thirteen episodes in the last season. This would not be surprising in view of the large number of new series that CBS has ordered, namely; ‘NCIS: New Orleans’, ‘CSI: Cyber’, ‘Stalker’, ‘Scorpion’, ‘Madam Secretary’ and ‘Battle Creek’.
In addition, there is bad news for ‘The Crazy Ones’, ‘Friends with Better Lives’, ‘Bad Teacher’, ‘Intelligence (2014)’ en ‘Hostages’. They have all been cancelled. The only new series that made it for a second season are ‘The Millers’ and ‘Mom’.
The fate of ‘Intelligence (2014)’ and ‘Hostages’ was to be expected, but ‘Friends with Better Lives’ had support at CBS and was called the possible successor of ‘How I Met Your Mother’. Possible the producer of 20th TV will try to sell it to another network. ‘Bad Teacher’ started out strong but after just three episodes the rates keep dropping. It also was expected that ‘The Crazy Ones’, with Robin Williams, would not return. CBS was intrigued by the idea to keep Williams on TV, but unfortunately the first season was not strong enough according to the network.
