Two actors promoted to regulars for Tulsa King

Two actors who had recurring roles in the first season of Tulsa King, starring Sylvester Stallone, will be added to the regular cast in season two.
Tulsa King follows New York mafia boss Dwight 'The General' Manfredi (Stallone), just after he is released from prison after 25 years and exiled by his boss to Tulsa, Oklahoma. Realizing that his mafia family may not have his best interests at heart, Dwight slowly assembles a group of unlikely characters to help him build a new criminal empire in a place that to him might as well be another planet.

Annabella Sciorra (pictured) and Tatiana Zappardino, who had recurring roles in the first season, have been promoted to regular actors for the second season. They join the rest of the series' cast, which includes Andrea Savage, Martin Starr, Max Casella, Domenick Lombardozzi, Vincent Piazza, Jay Will, Garrett Hedlund and Dana Delany.

Sciorra plays Joanne Manfredi, Dwight's younger sister. Zappardino plays Tina Manfredi-Grieger, Dwight's estranged daughter.

Craig Zisk has been tapped to direct and produce season two. The series has now gone back into production. Tulsa King is now being labeled as a comedy series and will film in Oklahoma and Atlanta.

As reported in February, Terence Winter, who stepped down as showrunner of the mafia drama/comedy after the first season, has returned as a writer for season two in addition to his continued duties as executive producer.

The series opted not to replace Winter, as is common with the other Sheridan series produced by 101 Studios that do not have a traditional showrunner. Instead, Tulsa King, produced by MTV Entertainment Studios and 101 Studios, would appoint a director/executive producer, which is now the case with Zisk's appointment.

Creator Sheridan returns as executive producer. The series is also produced by Stallone, David C. Glasser, Winter, Ron Burkle, Bob Yari, David Hutkin and Braden Aftergood.

After Sheridan's 1923, Tulsa King is Paramount+'s most-watched series of all time. The first season will debut on CBS this summer before season two launches on Paramount+ this fall.

Zisk has worked as director and executive producer/co-executive producer on series such as Weeds, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, The Looming Tower and The Mysterious Benedict Society. He recently directed episodes of Halo and Interview with the Vampire.
