BET has renewed the series with a second season. Initially, production on the second season was supposed to start in March, but due to the coronavirus, this was delayed.

Perry will then start production on Tyler Perry's The Oval, but only with a limited number of people present, who will all be tested beforehand. According to Perry a lot of people are dependant on their jobs at the studios, which is why he has been thinking about how we can create a safe working environment. Perry hopes to start in June, but only if everything is well-organised. If that's not the case, production will not start.
