Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt is an American comedy series which is aired on Netflix. The series premiered on 6 March 2015.

After 15 years of living in a cult, the unbreakable and wide-eyed Kimmy (Ellie Kemper, “The Office”) is rescued along with four other women, causing a national sensation that culminates with an appearance on the ”Today” show. Before getting back on the bus to Indiana, however, Kimmy decides it’s time to reclaim her life. Armed with just a backpack, light-up sneakers, a couple way-past-due library books and a big wad of rescue-fund cash, she’s ready to take on New York City. It’s easily the best time of Kimmy’s life as she rides subways, plays with street performers, frees Central Park horses and makes a spontaneous decision to rent a room from Titus, a gay wannabe Broadway actor who makes a living dressing as a robot in Times Square. This unlikely pairing may not seem ideal, but it quickly becomes clear that they can really help each other out: Kimmy needs someone to reintroduce her to the modern world, and Titus could use someone to show him that you should never give up on life, no matter how many times you get rejected from performing in “The Lion King.” As long as they stick together… they might just make it after all. Hakuna matata!

Between 2002 and 2004, three young women suddenly disappeared from Cleveland's streets. Ariel Castro thought it would be interesting to see what would happen if he kept them imprisoned in the basement of his terraced house for ten years or so and structurally sexually abused them. “Hey”, thought the spiritual mother of 30 Rock, “there is a thigh-banging hilarious comedy in that. Instead of a sexual predator, we use a religious maniac, but otherwise we really don't need to change that much. Super laugh, man. ”. Well of course it is true that as a creative you get your inspiration from everywhere, but perhaps that Tina Fey - you know, who played the masterful Sarah Palin on Saturday Night Live - maybe a little extra distance from reality when writing Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt. could have taken. In the - incidentally very catchy - opening credits of the new Netflix comedy, there is even a tasteful nod to the eyewitness account of the man who eventually saw one of Castro's victims escape from the house, transformed into an autotune track. I'm just saying. At the age of fourteen, Kimmy Schmidt, along with three other women, was hacked into an underground bunker by a self-proclaimed messiah under false pretenses. An apocalypse will wipe out the world's population and only hidden in the peat can survive this disaster of unprecedented proportions. When fifteen years later the door suddenly opens and the hiding place fills with sunlight, it appears that they have been sitting on 25 m2 for Jan Lul all this time. Released from her oppressor, the permanently hysterical Kimmy in New York decides to start a small catch-up. Together with her roommate Titus - who most resembles a witty, very not funny version of Ainsley Harriott - she tries as best as possible to avoid all the obstacles that life throws in her path. Life would have been better off sharpening our sights, because then we might have been spared this 13-part torture. Rarely did I not laugh so much about something that should be considered funny. All things considered, I think I've got exactly zero teeth on Kimmy & co. have shown. For a moment it seemed to happen when in the middle of episode three the corners of my mouth started to curl spontaneously, but that turned out to be due to four consecutive tias caused by the staggering non-fun. You watch a cluster bomb of horrifyingly bad jokes for twenty minutes at a time, played by an Oilily-wrapped protagonist who constantly stares at you like a psychopath with a backyard full of lifeless bodies. A protagonist with a smile that seems to hurt more than Kanye West's and a protagonist who tries to push even more insights and life lessons down your throat than Bob Saget in eight seasons of Full House. I don't even want to talk about the fact that Don Draper said yes to a role in this disappointment. No, I do want to talk about it! How could you have been part of class, quality, taste and finesse with Mad Men for years and now link your name to this misery? I have not felt so betrayed since Cruijff moved from Ajax to Feyenoord in '83. And what's up with all those completely misguided quasi-funny remarks about gays, Asians and Indians? As far as I am concerned, there is only one Schmidt and he steals the show in New Girl every week, but that is only my humble opinion.

looking back ... 13 times I wasted half an hour on nonsense. Nevertheless. I thought it was going to get a little better ... but no. It's really not worth the effort, so ... haven't you started it yet? Congratulations. Quickly look for something else.

It takes some getting used to but after 3 episodes it starts to get nice. It's not a strong comedy or anything so don't expect too much of it ..
