Acorn TV's lighthearted comedy series Under the Vines returns for a third season

Filmed in New Zealand, the lighthearted comedy series Under the Vines returns for a third season.
Lead actors Rebecca Gibney (Wanted (2016), Packed to the Rafters, Halifax: Retribution) and Charles Edwards (The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power, The Crown, Downton Abbey) are reconnected. Sarah Peirse, John Bach, Trae Te Wiki and Simon Mead also return.

The synopsis reads: “It’s been a tumultuous six months since we last saw our Oakley family, and much is afoot. Desperate to regain their former standing as the ‘sole’ mutual heirs of Oakley, Daisy and Louis will need to work together to try and oust William in any way they can.”

Erin White directs episodes 1-3 and Laurence Wilson directs episodes 4-6. Kelly Lefever, Erin White, Nick Ward, Kathryn Burnett, Harry McNaughton and Steph Matuku are the writers.

Gibney, Richard Fletcher of Libertine Pictures and Brendan Dahill of Perpetual Entertainment (formerly known as EQ Media Group) are executive producers. Acorn Media Enterprises, the development arm of Acorn TV in London, is co-producing with New Zealand pub channel TVNZ.

First revealed in 2020, Under the Vines follows Edwards and Gibney as two unlikely quintessential city slickers who inherit a bankrupt vineyard in rural New Zealand. AMC Networks streamer Acorn ordered it first alongside TVNZ.

Acorn TV operates in North America and focuses on top quality British and international television series. Original programs include the New Zealand detective series My Life is Murder, starring Lucy Lawless, the British crime drama Whitstable Pearl, the Emmy-winning Queens of Mystery and the detective series Dalgliesh.
