It was very weird and it didn't feel good to watch a series. The series has a Dutch name: Van der Valk. But the series is set in the Netherlands and everyone speaks English, also the guest roles and English is even spoken on the street ?! This is really not the reality of the Netherlands. English is spoken in Amsterdam because there are many tourists, but almost none in the rest of the Netherlands! The Randstad may be an exception. But I have a suspicion because the Netherlands has always been so hospitable in the past (And at the moment there are still many Dutch people very hospitable to everyone) That the Dutch language will disappear within about 50 to 100 years. Or that the language will only be spoken in exceptional cases. In the coming years, I think around 2030, 2040, 2050, the English language in the Netherlands will become an official language, slowly putting the Dutch language in second place. Then the Netherlands is a three-lingual country. Hopefully the Frisian language will still exist. That's all because the Dutch always wants to adapt to almost everyone. If a foreigner comes and says '' You must speak english '' in your own country in the Netherlands, then it is already far away. Try that in Germany, France, Spain or you name it The Dutch are really a very social people, with some population groups taking advantage of them. I do not want to say that it is bad to speak English, but the Van der Valk series is a preparation that we will all soon be speaking English and the Dutch language will disappear. And I am not a conspiracy thinker just save this message and read it again in 50 years and then we will continue talking :) But after making a long story short about the Van der Valk series, it is a good series but a pity English is spoken in your own Netherlands!
