The village chief's (re-)election depend on a seagull landing on his helmet before sunset. Alas, wretched birds only seem interested in clumsy ship lookout Gorm, whose helmet they often set upon at sea. Wickie and the men work out the seagull is attracted by Gorm's fish-reeking cloths.
