BBC releases trailer for second season of crime series Vigil

The BBC has dropped the trailer for Vigil season 2, which sees Suranne Jones' Amy Silva trade a submarine for the skies.

As revealed earlier this year, the leading lady in Line of Duty creator World Productions' hit series will enter the closed and hostile environment of the Royal Air Force in the upcoming season, tasked with uncovering the cause of several unexplained deaths. to locate a Scottish military base. Silva and her partner DI Kirsten Longacre (Rose Leslie) must face the deadly warfare of tomorrow while fighting for their own future.

Vigil

The second season of Vigil starts on Sunday, December 10 and the BBC will immediately put the first three episodes on iPlayer.

The BAFTA-nominated first series of Vigil, set on a submarine, was the BBC's most-watched new drama for four years and both seasons have been sold to Peacock in the US.

Vigil is written and created by Tom Edge, who also co-wrote The Crown, with episodes written by Maryam Hamidi, James Smythe and Ryan O'Sullivan, and Matilda Wnek.

Series two is directed by Andy De Emmony (The Nest) and Joss Agnew (Deep State). The producer is Marcus Wilson (Doctor Who) and the associate producer is George Aza-Selinger. Executive producers are Simon Heath and Jake Lushington for World Productions, Gaynor Holmes for the BBC and Tom Edge. The Commissioning Executive for the BBC is Stephanie Fyfe. International distribution is handled by ITV Studios.
