Afl.1 had a lot of family drama. Understand that a few things have to be explained in a pilot, but hope that in the rest of the episodes a little more time is spent on real police matters.

Also 2nd episode full of family drama, this has nothing to do with the original. Series also has that typical CW sauce with which they also ruin series like Supergirl and Batwomam. Go stop it.
