Second season of Wednesday adds Steve Buscemi to cast

We will see a new face in season two of Wednesday. Steve Buscemi has been added to the cast.

The Addams Family spin-off is a sleuthing, supernatural mystery that charts Wednesday Addams (Jenna Ortega) as a student at Nevermore Academy. There, she attempts to master her emerging psychic ability, thwart a monstrous murder spree that has terrorized the local town, and solve the supernatural mystery that troubled her parents 25 years ago.

Buscemi (pictured) will play an undisclosed role in the Ortega-led series.

The coming-of-age comedy is from Smallville creators Al Gough and Miles Millar and is directed/executive produced by Tim Burton. Other executive producers include Steve Stark for Toluca Pictures, Andrew Mittman for 1.21 Entertainment, Kevin Miserocchi for Tee and Charles Addams Foundation, Kayla Alpert, Jonathan Glickman for Glickmania, Gail Berman, Tommy Harper and Kevin Lafferty.

Details about season two are still being kept under wraps.

The first season cast also included Catherine Zeta-Jones as the matriarch Morticia Addams and Luis Guzmán as Gomez Addams, along with Thora Birch, Riki Lindhome, Jamie McShane, Hunter Doohan, Georgie Farmer, Moosa Mostafa, Emma Myers, Naomi J . Ogawa, Joy Sunday and Percy Hynes White.

Buscemi recently directed the indie drama The Listener starring Tessa Thompson. He starred opposite Daniel Radcliffe in TBS's anthology comedy series Miracle Workers (2019) for four seasons.

He played the lead role in the HBO drama Boardwalk Empire, which earned him a Golden Globe Award, two Screen Actors Guild Awards and two Emmy nominations. He was also nominated for a Best Supporting Actor Emmy for his role as Tony Blundetto in season five of The Sopranos and was nominated for a Guest Actor Emmy for his performances on NBC's 30 Rock and IFC's Portlandia.
