After some trouble at her old school, Wednesday Addams is sent to Nevermore Academy by her parents.
Everyone probably knows the famous film The Addams Family. Loved by many for its strange and intriguing characters. Wednesday is a new series based on the family's daughter, Wednesday Addams (Jenna Ortega). She puts her own spin on this unique and very special character. Even viewers who are not familiar with The Addams Family will find plenty of enjoyment in this series. The series has a dark setting with a strong dose of humor. This series will be a bit too exciting for the little ones, but it is certainly a fantastic series for young and old.
After some trouble at her old school, Wednesday Addams is sent to Nevermore Academy by her parents. Nevermore Academy is a centuries-old boarding school that Wednesday's mother also attended. Anyone familiar with The Addams Family will be pleasantly surprised to know that Wednesday is joined by Thing at boarding school. Wednesday ends up sharing a room with a werewolf named Enid Sinclair. It is wonderful to see how great the contrast is between the two girls. While Enid decorated her room with bright colors, Wednesday made everything black. A clear center line divides the room in two. It is not very strange that Wednesday shares her room with a werewolf. Nevermore Academy is known as a school for misfits. If you don't fit in anywhere, that's where you go. Here Wednesday gets the chance to get her gifts under control and she will also have to do her part to keep the school safe. What gives the series the most charm are the excursions into the 'normal' world. Everyone in the area knows that there is something strange with the students of Nevermore Academy, but no one knows exactly why. They are therefore not very desirable during their outings.
Unfortunately, Wednesday's Blue-Ray does not contain any nice bonus items, but only the complete first season. This edition gives a nice luxurious look and gives you the opportunity to continue watching at a nice pace. The Blu-ray gives plenty of options. You can listen to the series in Dolby Digital in English, German, French and Spanish and you can choose from Dutch, German, English and French for subtitles. The sound quality and picture quality are nice and clear.
