The trailer for the upcoming sixth and final season of What We Do in the Shadows features Staten Island vampire roommates Nandor (Kayvan Novak), Laszlo (Matt Berry), Nadja (Natasia Demetriou), and Colin Robinson (Mark Proksch) to see them go their own way.
Even former acquaintance Guillermo (Harvey Guillén) has left the vampire enclosure for a new home after his short time as a vampire in season five.
Nadja, meanwhile, is shown working at an office, where she tells viewers, “Every day I am learning the dark arts of corporate America … TGI, FML, NGL, LOL.”
Laszlo continues his scientific experiments as he sets out to achieve his goal of “bringing life to a lifeless vessel.”
When Colin Robinson says that what he’s doing is like Frankenstein, Laszlo insists he has no idea what Colin is talking about.
“What I’m doing is completely original,” he says.
The trailer also teases the arrival of former roommate and fellow vampire Jerry (Mike O’Brien), who had been taking a “super slumber,” but, after he wakes up and declares, “Happy New Year, 1996,” Nadja and Nandor admit they forgot to wake him up and accidentally let him sleep for 50 years.
The well-rested Jerry then demands to know what the vampires have been up to for the past five decades. He asks, “What is our current dark purpose?”
FX teases that Jerry’s appearance makes the vampires realize how little they’ve done: “Not one goal accomplished, not one dream pursued, not one part of the New World conquered (except for their street and part of Ashley Street).”
However, this doesn’t stop Nandor from declaring, in the trailer, “Let the conquest of the New World commence.”
The rest of the trailer shows more chaos, Nadja and Laszlo fighting and Colin Robinson accidentally hypnotizing Nandor to sleep as Richard Nixon.
Other vampire exploits for season six, as shared by FX, include visiting New Hampshire, attending a human dinner party, celebrating the Baron and exorcising a demon.
The sixth and final 11-episode season, the second half of a two-season renewal of What We Do in the Shadows, airs with three episodes on FX on Monday, October 21 at 10 p.m. The episodes will stream on Hulu the day after they air.
