Role for Timothy Hutton in ABC series Women of the Movement

Timothy Hutton (American Crime) will portray a recurring character in the series Women of the Movement, which will also feature Glynn Turman (Fargo).

Women of the Movement will focus on the murder of Emmett Till. The series revolves around Emmet's mother Mamie Till Mobley's (Adrienne Warren, Orange Is the New Black) determination. She is fighting for justice for her son (Cedric Joe, Good Trouble).

Timothy Hutton (American Crime) will portray Jesse J. Breland, head of the defence counsel in the process against J.W. Milam and Roy Bryant for Emmet Till's murder. Next to Warren, Joe and Hutton, the cast will further consist of Glynn Turman (Fargo), Chris Coy (Station 19), Julia McDermott, Carter Jenkins (Famous in Love), Tonya Pinkins (Madam Secretary) and Ray Fisher (True Detective).

On the same day when 14-year-old Emmet Till was murdered 65 years ago, ABC gave the green light to the series. Marissa Jo Cerar (The Fosters (2013)) has written the series. It is based on the book Emmet Till: The Murder That Shocked the World and Propelled the Civil Rights Movement by Devery S. Anderson. Six episodes will be released.
