From Saturday 20 May, an episode of the new series will be added every Saturday. The complete first season of the thriller drama can also be seen on the streaming service from that date. Both seasons contain ten episodes. This means that the last episode of the second season will be added to SkyShowtime on Saturday 22 July.
Yellowjackets follows a team of young female soccer players who crash plane in the Canadian forests in 1996. At the same time, we also follow in the present the lives of the now grown teenagers who managed to survive their time in the wilderness. The adult women in the contemporary timeline are played by Melanie Lynskey (Candy), Tawny Cypress (Unforgettable), Juliette Lewis (Welcome to Chippendales), and Christina Ricci (Wednesday), among others. The second season also features Elijah Wood (Wilfred (US)), Lauren Ambrose (Servant) and François Arnaud (Blindspot).
The first season of Yellowjackets ranked first in several lists of the best series of 2022 last year. The series received critical acclaim, especially for the story and the performances of the cast. It received seven Primetime Emmy Award nominations including Outstanding Drama Series and acting nominations for Lynskey and Ricci.
A third season of the series is currently being worked on.
