Younger

Younger is such a typical feel-good series. Sit back, have a cup of tea, forget about work and lose your mind. Then bring it on, a piece or some bite-sized chunks of 25 minutes of guilty pleasure (grin). Okay, this isn't big television, but it's relaxing, funny at times and wonderfully unpretentious entertainment. Liza is annoying at times, mostly timid and cute, but there are also times when she confronts us viewers with some not-so-pleasant things about ourselves. Perhaps this aspect can trigger people to not like the series at all, but it is recommended for the undervalue seeker who also liked, for example, The Bold Type, Cougar Town, Atypical, Mistresses, Gilmore girls or Sex & the City. In its genre, I have never enjoyed any series more than Younger. I 'heart' Liza! And hence the 10/10.

Liza is forty. Very annoying for Liza, but of course not the end of the world, although TV Land seems to think otherwise. If we are to believe their new show Younger, loosely based on Pamela Sat (r) an's bouquet series, as a 40-year-old woman you are pretty much fed up. Construction workers still refuse to whistle when you parade with your fluttering color rinse in slow motion along the scaffolding and construction pits, from one day to the next you have no idea what your daughter means on Whatsapp by OMG and LMFAO and get a job. you can really write on your stretch mark stomach. The only way to get involved in society, which has apparently become far too dynamic and complex for the 40+, is to pretend to be a 26-year-old. Tuuuurlijk. With the help of her best friend Maggie, Liza lubricates her grooves, teaches herself some slang, which would be representative of the, obviously superficial and self-centered, in her twenties, and she is conquering the world. Great dude, but do you really mind that I now take a bath with a plugged in toaster? At Netflix, the streamers and party hats must have been taken off the closet after seeing the first episodes of Younger. Their Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt already seemed certain of the Greatest-Crime-Against-Series-Loving-Netherlands Award 2015 in March, but they are now carelessly passed by a kind of Sex And The City afterbirth that the dogs do not like to eat. I think you can only watch this series if you are in a life phase in which you also read the Viva of your own free will with very hard Mainstreet and One Direction in the background.
