Doctor Who is een Britse sciencefictionserie van de zender BBC One. De serie ging in première op 26 maart 2005.
Doctor Who liep oorspronkelijk van 1963 tot 1989 en was hiermee de - officieel - langstlopende SF-serie. De Doctor beweegt zich voort in tijd en ruimte in de TARDIS (een acroniem voor Time And Relative Dimension In Space, een relatieve dimensie en tijd in de ruimte). Dit 'voertuig' – dat van binnen groter is dan van buiten – had oorspronkelijk de eigenschap zich aan te passen aan de omgeving waarin het zich bevond. Echter, nog voor de aanvang van de serie, in 1963, is het bij een bezoek aan Londen 'blijven steken' in de vorm van een politiehokje. Zo een blauwe telefooncel waarin men de politie kon bellen was tot de jaren '70 veel te zien in de straten van het Verenigd Koninkrijk.

It's a bit of a shame that the episodes of Doctor Who (2005) aren't kept up well. For example, 'Day of The Doctor' (Nov 23, '13) and the upcoming Christmas special; 'Time of The Doctor' not included in the episode list.

Day of the Doctor is indeed included: https://www.mijnserie.nl/doctor_who/afleveringen/ Season_0/afleveringen/ Unfortunately TVDb has locked the series so the Christmas special of this year cannot be added. But maybe that will still happen.

I started this series a week ago. I had to get into it, this is partly because I had watched all the Sherlock series before and the difference in quality is very high. But I am positively surprised despite the somewhat lesser episodes that are in it, especially the first season. (So let's take a bite) I'm now on season 3 and you can see from everything that the budget has increased and it only gets better. The story is solid, the actors are ok (GB is not USA so a smaller tank to pick actors out) and I am curious how and what they will experience.

I've already seen the first series with Capaldi on BBC, and am now finishing the last Matt Smith series. Not as bad as I feared. But I think Capaldi is much better than Smith.

David Tennant, is my doctor, tried it, gave the 'other' doctors a chance - (Yeah, know it's the same doc. Only in a different jacket) - but still ..! Peter Capaldi may still make me doubt. I'm still getting started. So I thought the seasons with David were fabulously good (acting and script.)
