Surprising star wars series that captivated me until the end

I see all very high numbers and unfortunately I am the deviation. I found the series very disappointing. As someone who saw the first Star Wars film, Episode IV A New Hope, in theaters, you might expect me to love this. But that is not the case. Yes the series gets a few nostalgia points and it looks great, which is to be expected from Lucasfilm. But that doesn't automatically make it good. First of all, it is very difficult to find something really exciting when you already know that the main characters will survive and they are in fact not at any risk. After all, they appear in many sequels. Secondly, the entire series depends on clichés. It's just lazy writing. The Murphy doctrine is carried out to the point of ridiculousness. As soon as something can go wrong, it will go wrong. A lid that won't open, gee, would that be okay? Think so, because Leia is also in the next film. And there are many more boring examples. And as soon as it seems to be getting a bit exciting, there is a rescue every time at the last minute. Which, by the way, you expect and usually see coming. The acting is also not very high-quality. Moses Ingram almost makes a parody of her inquisitor, for example. And the always good Indira Varma is given very little to work with. Except for the main characters, who you already know will survive everything, the other characters are made of cardboard and you never really sympathize with them for a single moment. So if one of them doesn't survive, that's bad for them, but it doesn't really matter. It is also typical of Disney to make you try to sympathize with a robot. No R2D2 or C3PO, who still had character, no, with robots that actually do nothing, are not developed and have no character. The destruction of one of those robots is played so heavily that it suddenly drowns out the action. Why? I'm sorry. I had hoped for more. But this is not yet in the shadow of The Mandalorian.
