Outcast

Horror, it is and will remain a genre of its own. Apparently this series is also based on a comic, at least completely unknown to me. As you might expect nowadays, the "special effects" are in any case okay, but as far as I'm concerned that is not enough to put down decent horror. Nowadays, if I already watch horror, I can only make a comparison with the movie "The Conjuring" from 2013 with, among other things, the great Vera Farmiga from "Bates Motel" and of which a sequel will be released in the cinema this month. While watching "The Conjuring" I stuck to the ceiling five times, during the pilot of "Outcast" I fell asleep somewhere halfway through. Just to say that I wasn't terribly shocked, let alone that it would have been somehow terrifying. No, "Outcast" doesn't really convince me as horror.

The pilot was not very convincing but what follows in the second episode is definitely weak. Except for a little trick in the very last minute, an entire episode actually happens almost nothing that resembles horror in the slightest. Over the years I have seen test images on various channels that were more fascinating and exciting than what this series brings, so I call it a day. Just a waste of airtime.
