It's more of a drama than horror I must say (except for a few scenes). I actually expected a bit of a Conjuring / Rose Red haunted house series, but unfortunately. Not a bad series, but a small setback if you really expect horror.

I expected a little more excitement. Some parts were a bit on the boring side. Lots of drama with some tense moments now and then. Well-acted and beautiful decor such an old house where you prefer to walk around alone. I don't get higher than a seven.

Long-winded story with a lot of meowing and almost no tension. Only thought episode 9 was reasonable.

Huge setback in the end. The first episodes still instilled fear. There were moments of shock and there was a nice gloomy atmosphere. But from episode 7 it all gets weaker and eventually drowns in emotional posturing in the last two episodes. Can't be the intention of horror.

Grim, the bizarre family dynamic. Plot twist at the end a la Sixt Sense. Stayed up all night to cheat him.

ever read the book but was not very good. now i have started this series also i naturally expected a bit more excitement and special effects as usually when it comes to a story about a haunted house. now i'm on episode 5 of the series but really not much of ghosts. sometimes you see something that comes from their childhood when they lived together in that house, but otherwise it is a boring series that looks more like a family drama than a series about a haunted house. for lovers of drama series but less for horror fans who will find it little use. but if you want to keep watching the series then you have to look very carefully and keep your thoughts there because it is sometimes difficult to understand. the series is more of a psychological family drama because there is the common thread in the series the family with an occasional ghost or something that happens when they go back to the past their childhood and that is all because the title is misleading just like the book

Unfortunately season 2 is a bit disappointing. More of a love story, long dialogues than the horror element. Nicely played and certainly well put together. Still less exciting.

Had expected a bit more excitement and sensation and occasionally very long dialogues, but despite that still a good series. Beautifully filmed and very well acted!

Where season 1 started exciting and (in my opinion) went more towards the horror genre, season 2 after ending 3 is quite disappointing. Little suspense and more drama than horror. I am not easily given up halfway through, so I will probably copy it, but with reluctance.
