Top of the Lake is een Australische misdaadserie van de zender Sundance Channel. De serie ging in première op 18 maart 2013.
De twaalfjarige Tui Mitcham (Jacqueline Joe) is vijf maanden zwanger. Aan detective Robin Griffin (Elisabeth Moss) de taak om erachter te komen van wie. Veel potentiële daders zijn er niet, want het Nieuw-Zeelandse dorpje Laketop kent meer bomen dan inwoners. Tui’s drugsdealende vader Matt (Peter Mullan) maakt al gelijk een verdachte indruk. Niet in de laatste plaats omdat hij een ruzie om een stuk land met de symbolische naam Paradise zo uit de hand laat lopen dat eigenaar Bob Platt (Darren Gilshenan) overlijdt.
