A guy walks around in Paris, who changes names even more easily than Prince in the heyday of his identity crisis. Sometimes his name is Guillaume Debailly, sometimes his name is Paul Lefebvre and when you call Malotru to him, he listens too. Guillaume does not suffer from a split personality, but is a secret agent with the DGSE, the CIA of France. After years of watching his newspaper with peepholes in Syria, it has been fun. Guillaume goes home. Back to evening strolls along the Seine, back to over priced cappuccinos in the Latin Quarter and back to his daughter. While they pull Guy's alias through the shredder at the head office and his presence in the north of Africa disappears like snow in the sun, he can hardly let go of one thing ... It will not be a woman with stilts under her armpits. ! What is that about guys ?! Flaccid pockets. Back in reality, the past keeps gnawing and if by chance the paths of the two cross, there can of course only be bullshit. Let me get straight to the point, Le Bureau Des Légendes is not for everyone. In fact, I think that even with eight cans of Red Bull behind you, most of you can't sit through the first episode to the end. Le Bureau is slow. Next level slow. Compared to this new one from Canal Plus, slow cookers like 1992, Olive Kitteridge and Arvingerne are true adrenaline-pumping action thrillers. It is slower than Miss Montreal who is responsible for the opening of the Hottentotte tent exhibition. If you are good at explosions and one plot twist after another, then this one is not your style. No problem right? There is plenty of other fun available. This one is more for those who take all that messing around at the beginning of Ravel's Bolero for granted, as they feel it's just the preliminary shootings for a bombastic finale. Figuratively, because I can't pull that entire Bolero for an inch, but I can appreciate a bit of tension and you get that presented in an extremely subtle way in Le Bureau. I think the makers of Le Bureau know how to make a really good pasta carbonara. They only work with a few ingredients, but ensure that they are of such high quality that the end product must taste delicious. Good actors, strong storyline and solid setting. You don't need more as far as they are concerned. They are right. Le Bureau does not like frills and frills, it is sober and does not seem to violate reality too much. No super model spies with six packs where you can easily do a hand wash and no low-flying helicopter chases through the center of Paris. The battles of international espionage are won in dull boardrooms, behind the computer and during networking drinks. They are won by men with a belly and a receding hairline and women who would have a hard time on Tinder. That is perhaps the greatest charm of Le bureau, it is normal. In the list of goodies from Canal Plus (Spotless, Braquo, Engrenages) this one is certainly not at the top, but for those who want to relax for a while, this can be a nice warm bath. Add a shelf of cheese and a good glass of wine and you are under the pans for a few evenings. In my transcendent I gave this an 8, because the haters will crack it and the lovers will praise it in the clouds. Nice poldering. Are we Dutch stars in. www.gumstarr.com

Fantastic series that keeps getting better. Season 3 in particular is very exciting to me. Good characters. I like a mix of realistic, tension, relationships, espionage, technology and what is happening in the present time.

I like French police series like Profilage and Section de Recherches, but this series about the intelligence service is too slow for me. It takes place too much in the office and it regularly became boring for me.

Very good series, especially season 2 and especially season 3. I am very disappointed that I have not seen the first episode of season 4 (on Canvas). Let's hope they will repeat the series one day, because series like this one and such as Engrenages (the IMDB 8,5+ series say) are apparently too expensive for NPO. But anyway, we have 'Farmer seeks woman' season 10, IMDB 6.1 ...
