Series is set in the 19th century 'wild west' of Canada. The men of a number of families who want to settle there are murdered along the way by a group of bandits who pose as Indians because they need the women for their brothel where the whore population has been thinned by a cholera epidemic. However, these women do not just surrender. Led by the half-Indian Kat (who also saves 2 teenagers from prostitution) they all try to build a life as best they can. Fortunately, not all the men in the mining village are hostile and the main villain's wife also tries to protect the women as much as possible. Exciting historical drama.
